Este Centro Cultural Profesor Jesús Castro Agúndez que cuenta con una arquitectura moderna que también vale la pena admirar, además de albergar el Museo de la Ballena es hogar para el Teatro de la Ciudad, el Archivo Histórico, algunas galerías de arte y la Biblioteca Pública. DALLAS, ESTADOS UNIDOS (05/DIC/2011).- La empresa Southwest Airlines anunció hoy que su subsidiaria, AirTran, fue autorizada por el Departamento del Transporte de Estados Unidos para operar vuelos hacia México.

AirTran planea comenzar los vuelos el 24 de mayo de 2012, con cuatro servicios semanales de ida y vuelta entre San Antonio y Cancún.

La aerolínea, con sede en Orlando, Florida, también planea operar desde ese día un vuelo diario de ida y vuelta entre San Antonio y la Ciudad de México.

Además, contempla iniciar el 3 de junio de 2012 un vuelo redondo diario entre Los Angeles, California, y Cabo San Lucas, así como otro de Los Angeles a la Ciudad de México.

"Con la aprobación del Departamento de Transporte, estamos muy contentos de contar ahora con estos destinos disponibles para la venta, para los clientes de AirTran y Southwest", dijo Bob Jordan, director ejecutivo de Southwest.

Los Cabos, incluyendo Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo y el Corredor sigue atrayendo a los visitantes como uno de los destinos de golf más importantes del mundo.

Los habitantes nativos de esta región tenían ya una gran variedad de platillos, pero con la llegada de los misioneros se introdujo el cultivo del trigo, el maíz, el olivo y la vid, y la convivencia entre éstos últimos y los nativo permitió que surgieran nuevos platillos. Sin embargo tristemente, esta invención de platillos no pudo continuar debido a que los jesuitas fueron expulsados por faltar a la doctrina de la iglesia y del rey, por esto gran parte de las ciudades indígenas desaparecieron.

Por este motivo la diversidad gastronómica en este lugar no es tan vasta como en otros lugares de México, sin embargo debido a la gran riqueza que ofrece el Mar de Cortés y el Océano Pacífico se ha intentado generar una nueva variedad de platillos igualmente sabrosa que en el resto de la república.

Algunas de las delicias que podemos encontrar en Cabo San Lucas estan las almejas chocolatas, este exquisito marisco se cuece dentro de una cama de piedra cubierta por una hierva de esa región llamada romerillo. Cuando esta ya se ha consumido quiere decir que las almejas ¡Estan listas!

Los famosísimos tacos de pescado no sólo populares en esta región, si no en muchos otros lugares de México que han intentado imitar su estilo por su delicioso sabor. También el marlin ahumado es otro platillo que se ha imitado en muchos otros lugares del país, aunque en cada región adquiere su toque que lo hace distinto.

Otras delicias de este lugar, son la variedad de platillos que se preparan con mariscos frescos como los camarones, langosta, abulón, mantarraya, jaiba, calamares, deliciosos pescados y más. Todos ellos mezclados con otros ingredients también de esta zona como el romerillo, además de chile, ajo, cebolla, sal y pimienta.

Una de las delicias que a todo mundo gustan son los Tamales Fajados de pollo, los Tamales de Güemes que también se preparan con carne de pollo o puerco, aceite de oliva pasitas y aceitunas. También debemos nombrar la muy tradicional "Comida de Pobres", este platillo de nombre tan simpático, consiste en una sopa de mariscos, arroz a la Mexicana y frijoles acompañados de tortillas de harina.

Por lo general los platillos en Cabo San Lucas se acompañan con Clamato (bebida de tomate y almeja), licor de Damiana, que se prepara con la planta que lleva este mismo nombre, alcohol de caña, agua y azúcar. Esta bebida es realizada por los indígenas Guaycura para celebrar sus ceremonias. Es relajate, afrodisiaca y además es un excelente digestivo.

Other food delicacies from Los Cabos, are the variety of dishes prepared with fresh seafood such as shrimp, lobster, abalone, stingray, crab, squid, delicious fish species and more. Usually the dishes in Cabo San Lucas are served with Clamato (tomato and clam drink) or Damiana liqueur, prepared with a plant bearing the same name, cane alcohol, water and sugar. Try visiting El Chorro a sand waterfall where you can test your skills on the ATV. Located a few miles beyond of Miraflores, when driving towards Santiago, after taking the San José del Cabo exit. El Chorro, filled with sand dunes, is a highly recommended area where you can feel the adrenaline as you skid along on any of the wonderful dunes. Nearby you'll also find the thermal waters of San Jorge, also called Agua Caliente, where you can enjoy a relaxing bath after your sandy experience on the dunes.
